Well, shizzle! I wasn’t able to blog over the holiday due to lack of internet access. So close, so very close but I accomplished more than I thought. To those that were able to blog all 30 days a big congrats!
We need a few good volunteers! Volunteers will do things like help vendors unload/load their cars, help shoppers find their way around, pass out show maps, and generally keep things running smoothly. You can stay for part of the day or all day long. Volunteers get a free admittance to the Ticketed Preview Party on Friday night and our never-ending love and affection.
Friday Volunteers are needed to help folks unload and setup in the afternoon, between 4pm and 7pm. We will have a large number of vendors trying to get into a somewhat car-challenged space, and need some active, afternoon helpers to keep things moving.
Friday Show Volunteers are needed from 7pm – 10pm to assist customers and generally keep things running smoothly.
Take-Down Volunteers are needed from 4:30 to 6pm, to help vendors pack up and clean up the facility.
Interested in volunteering? Send an email to Kelly@modernjune.com.
Well, as you can see, my word count for NaNoWriMo is pretty low. (see NaNo banner in the right column) I need to update the count, but the little bar won’t move much, I’m sure. I’m hoping over the Thanksgiving weekend I’ll plug in and the fingers will fly across the keyboard writiing the next best thing since the last best thing.
I don’t usually post about items I think are cute on this blog, but since the holidays are zooming in close and these fit the scene, here ya go.
Cuore’s Stewart the Owl holiday stocking = LOVE! I love owls and I love that its not a traditional type of Christmas stocking. I have my eye on a couple of different items in her shop.
Larkstudio’s scrabble tile ornaments are cute and nostalgic. She also has several other holiday words so you can pick your favorite or even order them all to create a nice holiday set to give as a gift!
Modern June retro oilcloth tree skirts are crazy cool. And waterproof, no wet fabric under the tree when keeping it fresh with water. No mess and in many other stylish prints to suit your tree color scheme!
Taking a little break from sewing and will do a little clean up/organization today.
Wow, I’ve posted for NaBloWriMo for 20 days straight. I think that’s a new record for me. And I finished my updates and re-launched my website today. Check it out!
It happens to me every time. The closer I get to the deadlines, my mind wants to go in 5011 different directions. Ideas for spring line, prototyping new styles (endless tweaking), new projects (screen printing), old projects (sewing!, finishing site update, de-stash fabrics, clean messy desk, etc).
Newly added to the list is a new banner. I really not digging getting another vinyl one, doesn’t really convey what I’m going for. Although, the old one with the old name was pretty nice. I’m want to try to make my new one using the Freezer Paper Stencil printing technique. There is an awesome flickr group dedicated to freezer paper printing. Really cool results! I may even document the process here. Oops! I think I just added yet another project. Oh well.
One prototype down, doing tweaks to the pattern and will cut out the bag again. And most of the incomplete projects, completed. Still only slight dent in what I’d like to get done this week. Shockers of shockers, I am actually running low on some supplies, mainly interfacing. Its one of those things that you seem to just have, until you notice that you need a yard of it and only have this oddly shaped 4 inch strip left. Not quite that bad yet but, I’ll have to make a store run soon.
