More Fabric and Fido

The dog is doing considerably better today.  Thanks goodness.  The fleas were driving him a bit nutty. He is admittedly a pampered pooch, so he’s not use to being bit all up. He feels good enough play with the new toy I picked up while loading up on anti-flea products.

Also, there is more fabric. YES!! Giddy fabric rush!

Fleeing Ideas

The weekend flew by.  I’ve had to de-flea my faithful fido and finally he is feeling some relief. For some reason his usual treatment was a dud and did not do its job. :-(

I have also been busy working on a new bag design. I’m at that point where I have the basic design silhouette, test fabric, and supplies gathered but how to finish it.  I’ll whip out the pattern quickly enough, (after this posting) but should it have 1 strap or two?, D ring or direct sew in? Pocket?  This is where I usually get stumped and this will slow up my progress.  I’m working on not letting it slow me down too much, it s an on going process. :-)

Scooter Luv

Is there a 12 step program for fabric addicts? because I think I need to go weekly.  During my daily internet browsing, I usually spot some really cool fabric and I always can figure out some design for it.  The problem is when will I actually get around to using the fabric. I’ve been better about talking myself out of acquiring more fabric lately and I have a new rule on myself that if I do get the fabric, I have to use it within two weeks.
Now on to why this post is named Scooter Luv:

Tagged!

Tag! I’m it!
I’ve been tagged by my new friend Nina of Beads in the Belfry.  We’ve known each other from being members of a bunch of online craft/design forums and groups and just met “in real life” at Crafty Bastards. It’s always a hoot meeting people in person and finally putting a face to the name.  Anywho, here are the rules:

1. Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by including links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs.

Shh, don’t tell anyone! Let keep this between us, shall we. ;-P
Here are the facts:

1. I wanted to be a violinist after seeing Itzhak Perlman on Sesame Street as a kid and I took lessons off and on for several years. The goal was to get good enough to play the violin (fiddle) part on The Devil Went Down to Georgia and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (Summer).  I still would like to pick up the violin again, I haven’t got that good…yet!

2. I’d like to lean how to play the guitar.
3. I didn’t drive until I was 23
4. I still have the teddy bear my grandmother gave me when I was 1yrs old. And its still in good condition!
5.  I love love love movies.
6. Its really hard for me to go into an office store and not buy a new pen. 50% of the time that pen will have purple ink./
7. When I sew, I have to have my earphones on and music jammin’.

NaNoWri No?

Well, I got off to a rocky start for NaNoWriMo. I’m behind hmm…5 days!!  I haven’t given up the fight though. I have scheduled a “write time” for myself tonight. (before Eleventh Hour, my new favorite show)  And I do have lots of notes.  But my one complaint is that I do wish NaNoWriMo happened in some other month, like August or January. November is such a busy time for holiday season sewing that needs to get done. Thats my one gripe. (well for this issue anyway!)  I guess I could muster the decipline to do it outside of the push of NaNo November. The problem is, there is always something else in the way regardless of the month.
Oh the life of a Artiste.  *pah-leeze!*

The Day After

I am so proud today. I think of my Grandfather who was born in 1900, an educated black man in Virginia who couldn’t vote unimpeded until the Voting Rights Act of 1965. I wish he could have lived to see this day in history. I also think of all my other ancestors that struggled to do the best for their family in America, in a time when it wasn’t the land of the free for ALL of its people. Its a remarkable day.
Congratulations President Elect Obama!!

Pouch To Go

I finally listed the new pouch designs I’ve been working on in my etsy shop.  They are pretty fun to make and have many uses, such as ipod/mp3 case, small makeup pouch, and a couple of the people at Crafty Bastards used it as a wallet on the spot! Love that!!

And They’re Off!

Its the start of NaBloPoMo! I will probably blog about a wide range of topics over the course of the month. So bare with me. :-) Lets see where to start…  I’m am currently working on my website and trying to get that up and running before the major Christmas crunch.  I am also working on inventory for the upcoming Richmond Craft Mafia holiday show.
I’m thinking of doing some sort of theme posts for NaBloPoMo, like Blue Monday or Turtle Tuesday, where I’ll post some great indie finds that go with the theme. Who knows, I’m winging it, won’t you join me?

Also, I’m curious if anyone else is trying this (holla!) or has some ideas for blog post ideas.  I’m sure there is atleast one or two people that stumble on to this blog occasionally.
